FFTP is a manufacturing supply-chain constituted by a set of companies distributed in Lima city (Peru) but well integrated by working procedures supported by information technology and Internet.
FTP includes 6 companies: A garment design company, a textile factory, a trimmings supplier, a sewing factory, a finishing factory and a laboratory of fabric quality control.
The garment design company includes graduates in garment design and CAD software for garment design and generation of patterns and markers.
The textile factory knits fabrics using the renowned Peruvian Pima cotton and mixes of cotton with synthetic fibers forming different structures (jersey, interlock, pique and others). It includes 10 circular knitting machines.
The fabric supplier is a giant importer of synthetic trimmings, located in Peru. These trimmings are sold without duty taxes as a result of the free trade agreements between Peru and the producing countries. These trimmings, which are already in Peru, can be observed and selected by the overseas clients using the FTP telecommunication systems so that the garments production can be started immediately.
The sewing factory includes a cutting room and 50 automatic sewing machines of all types (lockstitch, overlock, chainstitch, coverstitch, blindstitch, button sewing, buttonhole sewing).
The finishing company is specialized in garment embroidering and garment printing. It owns computerized machines so that it can finish small lots of varied garments.
The laboratory of quality control includes textile engineers and state of the art equipment to make quality tests on fabrics.
These 6 companies are connected by information technology so that they can communicate in real time at any time.
