FTP has developed and made garments for several North-American clients. Two typical FTP clients are T Design and H Lingerie, both located in Montreal (Canada).
- T Design continuously develops high quality fashion garments and distributes them to retailers in Canada and USA. These garments are sold in small lots that are sewn by different subcontractors of Montreal at high costs. In order to save the costs of new garment development and to have access to a large pool of fabrics, T Design subcontracted FTP. Now, T Design provides the drawings and measurements of its new garments and FTP makes and delivers the corresponding samples to T Design office in Montreal. In addition, FTP makes lots of 100 to 200 garments of different types for T Design through the year. T Design employees in Montreal watch and speak on line with FTP operators in Lima during garments production to put quality alerts when necessary.
- H Lingerie is a former manufacturer of bathrobes and pajamas that it sells by millions of units in Canadian and American chain stores. The current activities of H Lingerie are focused on garment development and distribution. H Lingerie products are made by Asian subcontractors requiring orders of at least 5000 garments and delivery times of at least 4 months. These requirements imply large investments in stocks for H Lingerie that, in addition, could not control the quality of its products during their production. H Lingerie subcontracted FTP to have the possibility of ordering small lots of garments and close to their delivery dates in order to avoid the investments above.
